Phase One Sensors

System of Aerial Cameras

Get Clear Aerial Photos for Your Drone Missions

Phase One Industrial cameras and superior interchangeable lenses provide the most detailed aerial photos of inspection targets and collection of qualitative data for mapping.

Who Benefits from Phase One Industrial Cameras:

  • Surveyors and engineers producing 2D or 3D maps by gathering vast amounts of data accurately and quickly
  • Civil engineers who must get a close and distortion-free look at hard-to-reach highway assets, including bridges and overpasses
  • Power industry teams that must inspect wind turbines, power lines, high-tension towers, and solar arrays
  • Communications personnel monitoring cell towers, antennae, transmitters and pole-mounted cables
  • Railway inspectors monitoring the safety and integrity of tracks, catenary systems, and peripheral equipment
  • Pipeline maintenance teams responsible for inspecting sprawling infrastructure

Phase One Industrial cameras have the ability to record images in resolutions that are unmatched among drone-mounted aerial cameras. The iXM 100 and iXM 50 enhance operations for civil engineers, surveyors, industrial inspectors, the power-generating and power-transmitting industries, and transportation sector, including railroads, maintenance contractors and government highway agencies.

Phase One Advantages

High Resolution

The 50MP iXM 50 can handle smaller-scale mapping and inspection missions, while the powerful 100MP iXM 100 can meet mapping, surveying or inspection challenges on any scale, including lower light.

Lens Choices

All MicaSense sensors read five bands of light—blue, green, red, red edge, and near-infrared, or NIR. Red edge data promotes early detection of crop disease and stress for quick action to correct deficiencies in a whole field or a targeted portion of the field.

Weather Resistance

With an IP53 rating, iXM cameras resist interference by dust and water spray, and they can operate from 14 to 104F (-10 to 40C).

Advanced Connectivity

Phase one cameras have ports for XQD card storage, USB3, Ethernet 10G, and HDMI output, plus LEMO connections for triggering, MEP to GPS, multi-sync, ready signal, serial communication and power.

Phase One iXM 100 Camera

The iXM 100 is a truly industrial-grade aerial camera for surveying, mapping and inspecting on an unlimited scale. It is engineered to set up easily with a range of UAVs and is designed to integrate seamlessly with medium-lift and heavy-lift hexacopters.

The sensor has a robust 11664×8750 resolution, with each data-packing pixel measuring just 3.76µm. With images recorded at 3 fps, data collection is fast but image quality remains highly detailed. Image clarity and long lenses combine to allow precise aerial inspection of infrastructure that is difficult to access.

Phase One’s proprietary iOS-compatible operating system provides for in-flight control of all camera functions via a second controller in a slave arrangement. The mid-sized backlit sensor promotes operation in low-light conditions. The camera is resistant to foul weather and rugged environments.

Phase One Industrial iXM 50 Camera

With a 50MP resolution, the drone-mounted iXM 50 is ideal for smaller mapping and inspection missions. The sensor is the same size, at 43.9×32.9, but pixels measure a larger 5.3µm. Like the more advanced iXM 100, the iXM 50 resists water spry and interference by dust. It uses the same iOS-based Phase One in-flight operating system for the camera, and it accepts any of the 5 available RSM lenses with full functionality.

Images are stabilized by a 3-axis Ronin MX gimbal, so they are sharp even when a 150mm or 300mm telephoto provides the magnification needed for a safe but close-up view. Images are recorded at 2fps. The iXM 50 offers the same wide range of connectivity as the iXM 100 camera with its bigger sensor.

Phase One Interchangeable RSM Lenses

Phase One RSM lenses are available in five lengths: 35mm and 80mm fixed focus for mapping, and 80, 150 and 300mm motorized auto focus for inspection work.

The 300mm has an action-stopping shutter speed of 1/2000 second, with all others shooting even faster, at 1/2,500 second. Leaf shutters eliminate rolling distortion and adjustable apertures promote depth-of-field that makes more of each image in focus and detailed when recorded by the Phase One cameras’ high-resolution sensors.

The clarity of images captured by RSM lenses can reduce down time for inspections, lowering costs.  And long lenses afford incomparably close views in images that are crystal clear due to the cameras’ high resolution.

System-Enabled Efficiency

Phase One Industrial saves time, cuts costs, promotes safety and more efficiently uses personnel.

Phase One cameras and lenses maximize performance because they are a complete, coordinated system. Every component is designed to work with every other, and they are engineered to integrate in their entirety with the DJI M600 Pro hexacopter and its Lightbridge transmission system.

The Right Lens for the Task

RSM lenses allow users to choose the proper lens for the task — 35mm and 80mm fixed-focus lenses for mapping, and 80mm, 150mm and 300mm auto-focus lenses for inspections.

Quality optics and leaf shutters capture even the smallest detail — making it possible to identify the type of clip on a railroad tie, for instance, or find fault in a transmission tower’s electrical connection using no more than the aerial view.

And high-resolution iXM cameras are capable of recording those images without loss of critical detail.
