Rugged, agile, and American-made—the Teal Golden Eagle is a commercial UAV created specifically for public safety departments, government, and military operations. As one of the first drones to become Blue sUAS listed, it is Section 848 FY20 NDAA compliant. It’s truly a powerful drone designed to help users achieve heightened situational awareness.
The Teal Golden Eagle was designed to be the ultimate ISR drone, facilitating intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance on the field. This platform has quickly become a favorite in security operations, as it has AES 256 encryption technology, which is currently the strongest encryption standard at a key length of 256 bits, making it DoD (Department of Defense) approved. Its modular, lightweight, and rugged design make it ideal for operation in tough environments.
Because the Golden Eagle was designed for short-range reconnaissance missions, it is one of the few American-made drones that follow strict design guidelines established by the Department of Defense of the USA. It has a modular body with an integrated FLIR EO/IRHadron dual-camera that captures and records surveillance-grade imaging and high-sensitivity thermal imaging. The EO/IR (electro-optical and infrared sensors)sensor means that the Golden Eagle has both RGB and infrared capabilities. The Sony RGB camera has an IMX412 sensor, supporting digital zoom, 90° field of view, and 4k@60fps resolution.
This feature allows field teams to quickly identify heat signatures in compromised environments, and transmit live feeds with stable streaming footage to offsite control centers. The camera is mounted on a dual-axis gimbal, that facilitates advanced stabilization for smooth video capture, even at its top speed of 50 MPH. It also has near-silent propulsion, which is ideal for stealth and reconnaissance missions.
One of the best features of the Golden Eagle is its onboarded computing capabilities—while many drones are simply used for data collection, the Golden Eagle has a powerful CPU and GPU for real-time edge processing of computer vision and AI applications. Another benefit of the Golden Eagle’s AI capabilities is the enhanced autonomy and visual obstacle avoidance. With its visual-inertial odometry sensors, the Golden Eagle can navigate through GPS-denied environments, and quickly identify moving obstacles, vehicles, and people.
Although the Teal Golden Eagle was initially created for military use, its advanced functionalities have enabled its use for diverse applications and use cases, including first responder crisis assessment, active situation reconnaissance, victim or suspect location efforts, accident and post-event reconstruction, as well as fire and hotspot detection.
One of the reasons the Golden Eagle has become a commercial favorite include the complete user experience; the Golden Eagle offers high speed, security, and general ease of use in the field. The Golden Eagle needed to be an efficient platform for field use—the rapid battery swap, quick and efficient takeoff, and completely modular design save users precious time during launch and prolonged use. A fully charged battery can support a 30-minute flight time up to a 5-mile distance. The Golden Eagle also comes with its TAC ground control station—it’s weather resistant, durable, and features an immense, 10-inch wide sunlight-readable display screen that can provide visuals during 8+ hours of extended use. It’s adaptable and supports a 3km+ range when operating Teal’s Golden Eagle; the TAC station can also connect to any MAVLink-compatible aircraft with a supported radio for interoperability.
The Teal Golden Eagle is one of the most efficient, durable, and powerful drone platforms on the market. For organizations that need a drone that can enhance situational awareness out in the field, the Golden Eagle will provide superior-grade imaging, quality performance, and heightened security.
